T-DRY DRUM DRYER

Energy-efficient drying

Truetzschler Nonwovens uses through-air drying to quickly and evenly dry wet webs. Our drum dryers are characterized by temperature uniformity, a large specific evaporation capacity and high energy efficiency.

NEW: MPD – built in energy efficiency and flexibility

The Modular High-Performance Dryer (MPD) is Trützschler’s brand new drying solution. Patented designs significantly save heating energy while the vertical design reduces the footprint. State of the art flow simulations are the foundation for MPD’s excellent drying uniformity without compromising on drying efficiency. MPD also features different heating systems to reflect local requirements. Heating system options range from natural gas, electrical heating, thermal oil and steam heat exchangers to CO2-friendly hydrogen or biogas.

Layouts for high-performance processes

There is a perfect MPD configuration for every hydroentangling line – whether it involves spunlaced wipes from polyester/viscose fiber blends or multi-layer cotton nonwovens. MPD is most advantageous in drying pulp-based materials such as Wet-Laid/Spunlaced (WLS) or Carded/Pulp (CP) nonwovens because both energy consumption and space requirements are minimized.

TWD-MDD multidrum dryer – Highest drying capacity

With multidrum dryers, wet nonwovens are dried very evenly and uniformly, as hot air flows over both the upper and the lower side of the web. An integrated interim chamber separates the fresh air supply and the exhaust air, and significantly reduces the energy needed for drying. More energy can be saved by using a (retrofittable) heat recovery system. Multi-drum dryers are available in horizontal and vertical variants.

Omega dryer – The alternative if space is tight

With only one perforated drum, the TWD-OD is very compact, but its drying capacity is excellent, thanks to the large wrap angle. This is another case where an interim chamber between the heating and drying chamber reduces the energy consumption.
